When life is heavy—when the fridge is empty, the house is silent, or the world feels like it’s just stopped seeing you—there’s still a place you can go.
Walk With Us is a grassroots, volunteer-powered community on the Gold Coast that serves more than just meals. We serve dignity, connection, and the kind of warmth that feels like coming home. Whether you’re doing it tough right now, looking for a moment of comfort, or simply need a reminder that you matter, we’re here. Every Tuesday. Every week. Every time.
We offer safe, welcoming spaces where anyone in need can enjoy a three-course meal, connection, and care—with no forms, no stigma, and no hoops to jump through. It’s not just dinner—it’s family-style service, clean clothes, mental health support, haircuts, hampers, and heartfelt chats. All free. All with love.
There are plenty of services on the Gold Coast offering food. We’re grateful for them—we even work with them. But here’s what makes Walk With Us different. Not better, but different:
We’re 100% volunteer-run. No big overheads. No office politics. Just real people serving others, week after week.
Our meals aren’t handed out in boxes. They’re served with tablecloths, cutlery, desserts, and conversation. Because respect is part of the meal.
Need a haircut? A legal chat? Help with Centrelink? Mental health support? Clean socks? It’s all here—no judgment, no hassle.
It’s in the way we remember your name. The way we ask how your week’s been. The way we don’t just serve food—we sit beside you and listen.
A single mum juggling three kids and a casual job, comes for a meal and finds a second family.
A veteran battling PTSD, finds quiet dignity and trust in our Tuesday night dinners.
A teenager couch-surfing through crisis, sees a path forward through our youth support.
A widower isolated in public housing, becomes a weekly volunteer and treasured friend.
Each face, each handshake, each moment—this is why we show up.
“A HUGE THANK YOU AGAIN for the amazing delivery of food hampers again today. Truly a Gift beyond words.
We’ve been struggling to meet the needs so far this term and we’re all so very grateful for all you and your amazing team do for me and for our families in need here at Benowa State High School.
Know your all adding such a very special gift to our families and community that are truly in need.
Blessings to you and all the team and your families, especially in this active week of weird weather. May all of you be guided and protected as the week moves along.
This year has been tough for a lot of people, we’ve all had ups and downs this year but luckily have never had to worry about food etc for our family.
I am grateful I can help and will continue to support you every year x
You don’t need a degree or a badge to make a difference—just a heart and a spare hour.
Whether it’s serving food, washing dishes, chatting with guests, or donating supplies, every role matters. We’ve had teens, retirees, tradies, teachers, parents, and even former guests join our volunteer family.
Wondering how to find us? Nervous about what to expect? Want to know what to bring or what’s served? We’ve put together answers to the most common questions, so you can feel safe and prepared before you come along.
Whether you’re thinking of coming for a meal, volunteering your time, or referring someone else—start here.
Whether you need support or want to give it, this is your invitation to walk with us. Come for a meal. Stay for the community. Leave with a little more hope.
